Program Overview:
To address the growing need for technological skills in today’s job market, the Norwalk Lifestyle Transformation Center proposes a Computer Literacy and App Development Training Program designed to equip participants with foundational digital competencies and entry-level coding skills. This initiative is especially targeted toward underserved youth, career-transitioning adults, and community members seeking upward mobility in the digital economy.
Program Description:
Offered twice a week in the Upper Room Fellowship Hall of our Community Services Center, this hands-on training program will include:
- Basic Computer Literacy: Keyboarding, word processing, email communication, internet safety, and file management.
- Introduction to Programming Concepts: Participants will learn the logic and structure behind coding.
- Java-Based App Development: Beginner-friendly Java training will enable students to design and build basic mobile and web applications, fostering creativity and problem-solving.
- Career Pathway Exposure: The program will also introduce participants to potential careers in software development, IT support, and digital entrepreneurship.
